Come fly a kite at our Mary Poppins birthday party as my oldest turns seven-years-old!
My oldest loves Mary Poppins! We saw Mary Poppins Returns in the theaters this past December, but we didn’t enjoy it like the original.
When it came to planning this special birthday party my daughter asked for it to be a tea party (too bad it couldn’t be on the ceiling). We have special teacups and teapots thanks to our weekly tea parties.

We made the decorations for this party thanks to the dollar store and craft store. We made kites from popsicle sticks and construction paper. The tails for our kites were ribbon and a tassel garland from the dollar store. Black pipe cleaners turned into chimney sweeps. With yellow construction paper, a black marker, and help from a ruler we created the measuring tape from Mary Poppins. I looked online and printed out some stills from the movie, song lyrics, and silhouettes. The lyrics from Chim Chim Cher-ee are found here and it’s a free printable. I also had my Mary Poppins Doll from when I was a little girl on the cake table.
Check out how each area is themed!
