Have More Fun!
Have More Fun! This is one of our three elements within our new MOPS theme of TO THE FULL this year. What are you going to do to Have More Fun in your life?
*All opinions are my own and do not represent MOPS International
Fun, what is that like when you are busy with your kids and maybe you work outside the home too? I am fortunate to stay home with my girls and along with homeschooling them too.
Maybe you are overly committed to things with your kids from dance, sports, and other extracurricular activities and you feel more like a minivan driving here and there instead of a mom soaking up the time with your children before they head off to college or head into the workforce.
Whatever your situation, life can get the best of us right? It can become stagnant, full of routines and disappointments and we may even forget who we are. We would rather choose the never-ending to-do list, scroll through social media, and binge Netflix over playing with our kids.
But this year is a time for change!
God intended us to live-fully and abundantly.
It means living gratefully, being joyful and hopeful. It means being led by the Good Shepherd and trusting that everything is working out exactly as it should.
May we remember what it is like to have fun in our lives! It’s not about doing more, in fact it’s about doing less! For every one thing that we say “Yes” too, we are saying “No” to two things in our lives.
Having more fun can cost money, but it doesn’t have too. It can be as simple as making dinner together or even watching a movie with homemade popcorn (with our phones put away to enjoy the movie with our kids).
What will you do to Have More Fun?
For me, this year I am taking ballet classes after my MOPS meetings and it is bringing me joy especially after my history of dance (another post).
I am trying to say “Yes” more to my girls and be more spontaneous! Remember, growing up and going over to your friend’s house just because? We didn’t have playdates, but we just went over to our best friend’s house and they came over to ours the next day- Yeah I wanna do more of that!
May you learn to live life TO THE FULL!
P.S. I know it has been awhile since I have last written-we started school in June; July I had family visiting; August and September my girls and I were in Florida (yes we were there for Dorian).
