Surrender, 2019 Word for the Year
I’m starting something new this year by having a word for the year!
Our family and I are surrounded by a wonderful community where we have lasting friendships, mentorship, accountability, prayer, and love. Most of these wonderful women do a word for the year-something I have never done.
This year is new!! I prayed about my word for the year, what can I work on with the help of my Heavenly Father?
SURRENDER!
I thought about my word all December and had the term LET GO!…cue in Elsa with her waving hands. I checked online for a word instead of the term let go and found SURRENDER. Surrender daringly is also from this year’s MOPS theme too.
I am done with the over thinking and beating myself up emotionally! I want to give my burdens to my Heavenly Father, instead of me trying to do it all and failing. I want to give my worries to God.
This is the year where I will let go and let God. Surrender is not an act of weakness, but an act of courage stepping out in faith for God to step in my life more and more. It’s going to Him in prayer more! It’s not saying whatever I give up I’m done; it’s me taking what’s on my heart or in my mind or anything and praying to my God and saying please help I can’t do this but I know you can. It’s giving my chains to Him because I’m free because of Jesus!
I am also reminded of the hymn-
All to Jesus I surrender

I will ever love and trust Him
In His presence daily live
