Dairy-Free Red, White, & Blue Smoothie

Red, White, & Blue Smoothie

Enjoy this Red, White, & Blue Smoothie to keep you cool on our Patriotic holidays or any day!

I originally wanted to have this Red, White, and Blue Smoothie to be a layered popsicle, but I only have four small molds…I will eventually upgrade to a larger size.

Some of you may not know but before becoming a chef I worked in a Tropical Smoothie Café when I was 14-years-old.  I worked my way up from being the “banana-girl” to a supervisor at the age of 15.  At Tropical Smoothie, salads, wraps, sandwiches, and smoothies were served.  Things I learned at my first job have really stuck with me through my career like wrap making and smoothies!

When I worked at Tropical Smoothie, turbinado sugar, honey, and vanilla were used in the preparation of its smoothies along with defrosted fruits, oranges, and bananas.  For me, I find that the turbinado sugar makes the smoothie way too sweet, so I prefer local raw honey which has great health benefits.  As far as vanilla…save it for baking!
