Garden Birthday Party
A Garden Birthday Party for Isabelle’s First Birthday!
Her birthday was so awesome! I loved planning, making, and preparing for each piece of it! Thanks to Pinterest for ideas! I started making butterfly garlands to decorate our living room, dining room, and kitchen about two months ago. Hey, with my hubby working late and Isabelle sleeping by 7:30 each night (wonderful baby!!!) I needed something to do! It was priceless seeing my hubby’s face when he came home and there were butterflies everywhere! :
I saved tin cans, washed them up, and then spray painted them to hold flowers, flatware, and pinwheels.
This is the Spray Paint in Copper
The decorations included:
pinwheels (boy did those bring back memories, I am happy I remembered how to do it :).
embroidery hoop mobiles for our enclosed front porch.
our herbs
The background are pictures of Isabelle throughout the one year held together with clothespins on a line of jute.
two lemon trees that became “wishing trees” so our guests could write prayers/wishes for Isabelle on little tags and hang them on the trees.
And for the Food!:
-Homemade Garlic Hummus with Organic Baby Carrots
-Chicken Pita Pockets with Arugula Pesto
-Sausage Cheese Salad (German)
-Pea Pesto Crostini
-Doughnut Soup (yes that is correct)
-Old Fashioned Cake Doughnuts
-Strawberry Lemonade-Sangria! (Victor’s Sangria)
Isabelle’s Birthday Smash Cake was a Quinoa Flour Chocolate Cake with a Banana Pastry Cream covered in Vanilla Whipped Cream and topped with Marzipan Flowers!
